UniversalRight.org
Because access to renewable energy should be considered a right for every human being
Universalright.org develops a distributed ledger solution to facilitate the Internet of Energy. This solution is designed to accomodate the greatest variety of technologies, vendors and interfaces, ensuring a distributed peer-to-peer energy system without lock in for the user.
Our solution is open, accessible for all users, and governed by Stichting UniversalRight under Dutch law, ensuring that intellectual properties remain in the commons.
UniversalRight was founded in 2017 for two reasons:
advocating for the recognition of access to renewable energies as a human right
fostering and holding intellectual properties to ensure their open and non-commercial character
UniversalRight’s endeavors have already resulted in a plenary keynote for the European Commission, high level presentations during 2 COP summits and annual contributions to IRENA’s general assembly in Abu Dhabi. Also, UniversalRight has presented its visions and ideas at many European Renewable Energy Weeks, IRENA Innovation Weeks, SXSW summit in Austin, Texas, etc. UniversalRight has already made an impact on the recent directives and regulations by the EC on Local Energy Communities and Energy Sharing.
Power to the people - literally
Our IoE protocol is designed to allow energy exchange between devices, regardless of their manufacturer. By allowing a great diversity of assets to interexchange energy with one another we facilitate swarm-intelligent, self-balancing energy systems. This greatly improves the autonomy of the user, and of the local energy community. The IoE protocol serves as the basis underneath our platform that allows users to increase their energy autonomy, and to be part of vibrant local energy communities that together are more than the sum of their parts.
